YE OLDE COTTAGE TEA CO.

Date: 2025

Project type: Packaging, logo design

THE CHALLENGE

Following on from a summer task to find an object at an antiques fair, you are to take your object and construct a piece of 3D graphics around it. The final piece needs to be appropriate to the object and the location you bought it from.

I based my project on a vintage teapot shaped like a country cottage, part of the popular 1940s 'cottageware' pottery style. Building on this idea, I developed a brand centred around traditional tea culture, titled Ye Olde Cottage Tea Co.

The product offering is a curated multipack of teas, including Earl Grey, English Breakfast, and chai. I focused on making the packaging a tactile and visually engaging experience, echoing the charm of the original teapot. The design takes the form of a cottage, incorporating brick textures and window details to reinforce the theme.

To create a stronger connection between the product and its context, I also drew inspiration from antiques fair signage, integrating similar shapes and visual motifs into the 3D packaging design.
